Best oil to use

Hi

I need to change the oil in my 2 litre DOHC injection Sierra soon, what oil would be the best to use?

10W-40 should be grand for it. Just be sure to use a good brand

5w30 or 10w40

If i have just bought a car I tend to firstly use the cheapest stuff i can find for 500-1000 miles to clean out the engine, then change it for some good Oil
